1st raya di perantauan...isk isk.. ...sedih la konon...pengalaman beraya dlm kelas mmg tak leh lupa....hmm dah la pagi tu kelas Prof Sayers..., terlewat 45 minit...bukan sebab gi sembahyang raye, ttp...he eh he sbb bangun lambat... reason for bangun lambat is becoz, the night before tido pkl 4 pg-semata2 sbb nak call rumah pagi raya (waktu M'sia)...he he eh.... hmm and then pagi raya tu, tgh2 sejuk coz it's already autumn...(coming to winter), gi kuliah pakai baju kurung raya... he he,,, best best...
But anyway, raya kat Sheffield pun tak kurang meriahnye... byk open house...byk idea2 yg kreatif n canggih semata2 nak siapkan juadah raya eg...how to prepare nasik himpit etc etc....and byk jugak org yg first time masak utk raya... he he (including me!!)....

Jalan lagi!!.. he he just about the right time for another trip...after penat perah otak for an exam on Friday (a day before), it's time for fun!! Actually we went to Notts on the ticket as supporters for the Sheffield team, which were competing in the annual sport event, Nottingham Malaysian Games, being held (where else?)-in the Notts Uni...tapi sokong2 jugak...jalan jgn lupa... ha ha ha...while the teams bermandi peluh... kitorg sempat tour satu uni...best best... The Nottingham University is really really beautiful....a lot of trees...hmm very fascinating...kind of reminding me of The Sherwood Forest and Robin Hood tales...but then, mmg Nottingham famous with the Robin Hood legend...
And then, sempat jalan2 jap kat Nottingham city centre-where we visited Nottingham Castle Museum...hmm the best thing was, sempat amik gambar ngan Robin Hood characters...but then, unfortunately...we've got lost while finding our way back to the uni...hmmm terrible experience...hampir2 tertinggal bas balik Sheffield....

Peak District Trip
|
|
First trip of the year!!!This was one of the day trip organised by Union's GlobalSpan..Just a quick note of the places we've visited....
Peak District is a popular tourist area of Midland/ Northen England and the location of England's first National Park. A lovely place at the outskirt of Sheffield....
#1 : Castleton
Castleton, one of the most popular centres in the Peak District. It has everything the visitor might want - picturesque scenery (it is overlooked by Mam Tor), a ruined Norman castle, showcaves, interesting geology (such as Winnats Pass), good walks and a pretty village. The two main features of interest, apart from the castle, are Cave Dale and Peak Cavern. Both are reached from the top of the main square - Cave Dale to the left (east) and Peak Cavern to the right (west). Cave Dale is a collapsed cavern and the very bottom part was covered by a natural arch until 200 years ago. It is a spectacular walk up the dale, which is very deep and narrow, with mineral veins crossing it at intervals. As you climb up the dale you get a good view of Peveril castle. It is also worth thinking about the fact that a lot of the way you are walking right above the chambers of Peak Cavern!
#2 :Bakewell
Bakewell, Derbyshire, England, is an ancient town in the centre of the Peak District National Park, founded in Saxon times. It is the home of the famous Bakewell Pudding. The Domesday book entry calls the town 'Badequella', meaning Bath-well, derived from the warm springs in the area. The town was built on the Wye at a spot where it was fordable and in 924 Edward the Elder ordered a fortified borough to be built here.Bakewell has one of the oldest markets in the area, dating from at least 1300. The first recorded fair was held in 1254. Markets are still held every Monday and there is a thriving livestock market.
A trip not to be missed...

This my new home...new uni...new city, new LIFE!!!!
People, don't forget to jolt these down!!! (and send me a letter....hi hi)
Flat 8 -Room 5
Broad Lane Court

To my greatest dispair, Sheffield Uni is not like what I've been dreaming of...It doesn't have fixed campus boundary...it's located close to the city (within 5-10 mins walk) and the university premises are scattered everywhere!! Which mean, a lotssssss of walking needed!! And my Medical School (of all places) is located on top of the hill..hmmm what a lovely way to loose weight...hihihi.. And so, it costs me 15-20 mins of walking from Broad Lane to lectures every single day... Hmm, I can stand all the walkings, the distances and the unfavourable + unpredictable weather conditions BUT...I can't cope with the polluted vehicles gasses...I think, after this 1 year, I might end up with a very black, soot-coated lung!
But then, I am lucky to be dumped in this so-called-university self cater flat...Broad Lane is one of the best and ideal university accomodation (esp for engineers-to-be)...being in the close proximity (well, only next door!) to the engineering departments, main lib, student union, West St., city and etc etc....and apart of having the priviliged to cook on my own (and thus can polish my rusty cooking skills), I am blessed with 5 other flatmates from around the globe...which tend to spice up my life even more!!
#1: Nora (M'sia) #2: Cornelia (China) #3: Bettina (Germany) #4: Tania (Greece) #5: me!! (M'sia) and #6: Elena (Greece)...

KL-Manchester-Sheffield : Let the journey begin.....
I'm gonna be away-far far away from home..... , well at least for 1 whole year... The journey began with flight MH0012 departing KL at 11.30pm and scheduled to arrive in Manchester Airport 13 hours later......Seems like a dream at first, but...hey, it's real!!! Accompanied by 3 other MARA-sponsored students Afizah (Jah), Syukur n Misnan, we moved a step further in the quest for knowledge.......The feeling? Undescriable. The future ahead? Unpredictable....
Bye Malaysia, and Hello, Sheffield....here I come...
Arrived in Manchester at 6.30am (local time)...Sampai gak akhirnya..... The momment we walked out from Man. Airport, it was just like stepping inside a -80 freezer...he he he cool and so, the journey continues......wish us luck!!!
Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood.
